FOLLOWING the success of the first British Education Day in Sha Tin last month, the British Council's Education Counselling Service (ECS) will hold another in the district on Friday. ECS director Neil Maynard said: 'The activity proved effective in providing a readily accessible channel for those students in the new town to obtain information on study in Britain.' Last month, about 100 people visited the five-hour Information Day, and 32 had discussions with the two ECS education counsellors present. At the next British Education Day, visitors can get information and advice on: Studying and living in Britain; Universities, colleges and schools; Living costs and tuition fees; Application procedures and visas. In addition, visitors will be able to glance though the reference books and collect a handbook and application form for the British Universities and Colleges Admissions Services (UCAS). The ECS was set up to help those interested in pursuing further and higher education in the UK. There are currently 14,000 Hong Kong students studying in the UK. For more information, call 2879-5151.
