BUY a raffle ticket and help the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra expand its musical contribution to the territory and extend its fame overseas. While helping the orchestra, your $5 ticket could also win you some very handsome and valuable prizes. As the only professional symphony orchestra in Hong Kong, the orchestra gives over 100 concerts each season, Its public funding, comprising the major part of its income, comes solely from the Urban Council. The remainder comes from ticket sales, fund-raising, sponsorship and advertising. Still, more money is needed to help the orchestra hold free concerts for schools and the community. Raffle tickets will be available from now till December 5 at the Philharmonic office, Level 8, Administration Building, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, and at the entrance to the Cultural Centre concert hall on December 1 and 2. Postal order forms are available at the Music Office, Tom Lee Music branches, Tsang Fook Piano Co, Yip's Children's Choral and performing Arts Centre. Also check the December publicity pamphlets of the Philharmonic distributed at all Urbtix outlets. Results of the draw will be published in the South China Morning Post, on December 11.
