ON October 28, I was out with my children, when my son saw a balloon in a coin-operated machine.

It said 'auto-blowing' balloon. He wanted to try it, so I bought one for him. The shopkeeper's daughter tried to help us. On the machine it shows that to activate the balloon you should pound it with your fist, it should pop and then blow itself up to size. When the girl pounded on it and it popped, it exploded causing a hole in the balloon.

Some foam-like substance blew up onto my daughter's face (she had been standing several feet away). I would like to know if this toy has been checked under the safety ordinance, and what the substance inside was, and if this toy is really safe. There was only Chinese writing on it, so I assume it was made in China.
