IT is gratifying that Sarah Balabagan has been spared from the death penalty in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), but what I want to know is, what about the rogues in the Philippines who sent a 15-year-old girl into that situation in the first place - the agency, the procurers of the phoney papers, evidently her own aunt and uncle who presented her to the agency, and government officials who must have winked their eyed at a 15-year-old girl with a 27-year-old's passport? Where is the firing squad for them? And where were the lamentations, and protestations from Imelda Marcos, while this whole sad sorry affair was going on? I seem not to have heard a peep.
