THE spotlight falls on leather in various guises and finishes in the latest Trussardi collection of menswear. 'We have a lot of nappa jackets and blousons. We use the best nappa for the first line which is a sophisticated glossy plonge,' said brand manager Sophia Lau-Duehring.
Jackets or car coats in this material are popular due to its softness and reasonable cost compared to other top brands.
The more casual Trussardi Action line uses nubuck in short car coats and nubuck with a shearling lining and collar in longer car coat styles.
Soft suede is crafted into blousons and shorter, loose-fitting jackets, trousers and zip-up suede waistcoats, even shirts.
The material is used in sports jackets in combination with corduroy and wool. An example of this pairing is corduroy with wool elbow patches or vice versa and suede inserted in the middle section.
Besides interesting fabric mixes, Trussardi utilises polymide nylon for its outerwear.
