Beau Geste was doing 15 knots speed at the other side of the Lema Group of Islands as she sped to victory in the aftermath of Typhoon Angela, which caused havoc in the Philippines.

Race officier Penny Carter allowed the final race to go ahead despite Typhoon Angela although Yacht Fast Exit had to retire soon after the start when a crew member was hit on the head by the boom. Apart from that incident no injuures were reported.

Denis Ma and his crew from China were pleased with their first place in the PYS Division on board Bliss.
