ASIASAT 2 is due to lift off on November 28 aboard a Chinese Long March 2E rocket from the Xichang satellite launch site in southwest China.

  The Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co's second satellite will provide a range of broadcast and telecommunications services. Its planned customers will include STAR TV, the Chinese Ministry of Radio, Film and Television, Worldwide Television News, Hongkong Telecom, and the Pacific Century Group.

  The satellite arrived at the site in mid-October.
