Chat-line sex warning

CHAT-LINE users could end up in prison if they don't check their new friends' identity cards, a defence lawyer said yesterday.

'Men who play this game don't know how old the girls are,' said James Li outside the District Court.

Mr Li was speaking after his client Cheung Hon-ki pleaded guilty to underage sex.

On St Valentine's Day this year, Cheung, 30, ended up in bed with a 12-year-old girl he met through a telephone game called 'One-Night Romance'.

The cook was said to have been completely in the dark about the girl's true age, Mr Li told the court.

She had run away from home on February 13, after getting into a quarrel with her mother.

She sought refuge at Cheung's flat and spent the night there.
