TWO policemen were shot by armed robbers in Yau Ma Tei last night after they held up a restaurant in Mau Lam Street. Three men and a woman posed as customers before threatening others in the restaurant and taking $65,000 in cash and almost $400,000 worth of valuables. They escaped in a taxi and shot at a police patrol from the vehicle. One policeman was shot three times in the arm and foot, and the other policeman was shot in the arm. They were in a satisfactory condition in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital early this morning. The taxi was found abandoned at Tai Kok Tsui and four people have been detained for questioning in connection with the robbery.
