MILLIONS of dollars of taxpayers' money will be sent to the Philippines, China and North Korea to help thousands made homeless by natural disasters.

The Disaster Relief Fund Advisory Committee has pledged $5 million to help people in the Philippines affected by Typhoon Angela.

The Hong Kong Red Cross will get $4 million and the Salvation Army $3.3 million for China. For the first time, North Korea will be given $1.7 million through a Hong Kong welfare agency.
