A FATHER yesterday admitted attempting to rape his six-year-old daughter. The 30-year-old restaurant worker subjected his child to the attack at a stone hut in the New Territories on an unknown date in 1991. His last-minute guilty plea will spare the girl the ordeal of having to give evidence in court. Lawyers for the prosecution and the defence refused to discuss the case yesterday because of its sensitive nature. But the details will be read out in a High Court hearing today. The father cannot be named to protect the girl's identity. He denied a second charge of indecently assaulting his daughter on another date in the same year. The charge was left on file.
