Hong Kong MBA Programmes are the World’s MBA Programme

Studying for a master of business administration (MBA) in Hong Kong is now recognized as a premiere MBA study location in Asia, serving as testament to Hong Kong’s international history. From its British colonial past where the city was established as a gateway to China to its current standing as a major financial player in the modern world economy, Hong Kong draws globally from the best ideas. This idea holds even truer when studying a master of business administration (MBA) in Hong Kong; the elite programmes became elite because they picked the best ideas from already recognized MBA programmes from around the world.

Studying for a master of business administration (MBA) in Hong Kong is similar to going to a premiere business school in the United States. Hong Kong University of Science and Technology's M.B.A. programme’s teaching style is similar to what you might find at Stanford University, while the rest of its curriculum is modeled after other respectable North American universities. While the teaching style may be considered Western, the content of the lessons are still focused on critical thinking and problem solving for Asia-specific problems. For Americans or Europeans who want to spend at least part of their business career in developing Asian markets, studying a master of business administration (MBA) in Hong Kong may prove to be a beneficial career move: they will still be studying under a recognizable formula, while learning the ins-and-outs of Asian markets. Asian students will learn under a Western thought process while still being able to connect with and develop strategies for their homeland. Together, MBA students will form new, global networks all stemming back to their time of study in Hong Kong.

As any business professional knows, networking is a necessity for surviving in the modern business world. Schools like Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s MBA programme are still relatively new and the networking capabilities are still moderately low. This shouldn’t be seen as a deterrent for studying a master of business administration (MBA) in Hong Kong. Getting in at the ground floor at one of these MBA schools can prove beneficial. Smaller class sizes mean more personal time and attention from the professor. While in the North American schools, these programmes are modeled after class sizes regularly exceeding 1,000 students, MBA class sizes in Hong Kong are generally capped at 100 students. With more chances to get noticed in classroom settings, rare opportunities may present themselves with these smaller class sizes. Intimate class sizes will only disappear in time as more undergraduates see the success that studying a master of business administration (MBA) in Hong Kong can bring.

Hong Kong’s recognition as a growing global finance powerhouse can also be seen as a major draw for studying a master of business administration (MBA) in Hong Kong. While it is no Silicon Valley, Hong Kong has the potential to be. As stated earlier, Hong Kong’s position as a global city has always hinged on its adroit ability to accept new ideas. As minds from all over the world eye Hong Kong as a place to not only begin business, but study business, Hong Kong could very well become the next Silicon Valley. And such, a master of business administration (MBA) in Hong Kong will only become a more elite symbol.

In the end, studying a master of business administration (MBA) in Hong Kong will only prove to be more beneficial for a business student as the city’s influence grows. As Western and Eastern thoughts continue to fuse, Hong Kong MBA education will continue to rise.
