HAPPY Valley avoided the Hong Kong First Division's relegation zone with a 2-0 win over Mansion at Mongkok Stadium yesterday.
It was only Valley's second victory of the season, the other being the 11-1 hammering of Club earlier this month.
Valley finish the first half of the competition in seventh spot with nine points while Mansion, who also have nine points, are eighth due to an inferior goal difference.
Scottish striker Paul Ritchie cracked in the first goal from a 20-yard set-piece free kick in the 17th minute.
Player-coach Gary McGinnis touched the ball to midfielder Iain McCall who in turn steadied it for Ritchie to blast a low drive into the right of Mansion goalkeeper John Cheesewright's net.
Valley added their second in the 61st minute after Cheesewright punched out McCall's corner, allowing McGinnis to head it back to forward Wong Chi-keung whose shot rifled into the net.
