A SEARCH was launched yesterday for two paragliders reported missing after jumping from a hill on Lantau Island. A companion reported the others missing after the three had jumped from Tai Tung Shan at about 3.30 pm. Some time later, one of the missing gliders, a 46-year-old German, used his mobile telephone to tell a friend he had twisted his ankle after landing on a hill near Mui Wo. A search party found the man at 7.30 pm and he was helped down the hill to be treated by a doctor. The search for third paraglider, a 29-year-old police inspector, was called off shortly after 9 pm when he was found at home. He had been blown in another direction during the jump and eventually landed on the Discovery Bay golf course.
