LUX International's Saigon Trade Centre (STC), the 33-storey retail and office complex which it is building with joint venture partner Lavico, will be ready for occupation by June next year, says its sole leasing agent, Brooke Hillier Parker (BHP).

Lux is better known as a Hong Kong manufacturer of television sets, than an international property developer.

The STC, in District 1 Ho Chi Minh City, has a gross floor area of just over 500,000 square feet.

The building will feature retail outlets on the first four floors with the remainder leased out as office space, according to Robert Pollock, an associate with BHP.

BHP is hoping to attract 15 to 20 international retailers and restaurants to the building, 'in order to provide Hong Kong-style shopping and leisure attractions', said Mr Pollock.

'When the building gets fully leased-out there will be some 30,000 employees needing a place to go and eat and shop,' he said.
