GANGS of two-way permit holders from China were blamed for the theft of a handbag belonging to German tourist Winfried Gugh, 51, in the China ferry terminal at Tsim Sha Tsui. The bag contained 6,000 yuan (HK$5,580), a ferry ticket and an ID card.

A Taiwanese man, 39, also lost a bag containing his passport and $10,000 in cash and an American Taiwanese lost a bag containing $10,000 in foreign and Hong Kong currencies outside a fast-food shop.
