A POLICEMAN has been fined $1,000 for making off without paying the full cost of his lunch. Constable Collin Chung, 24, might lose his job after five years of service in the force, his counsel Merinda Chow told the court. North Kowloon Court heard Chung and four other constables went to Hung Fat Food Shop, in Shekkipmei, on November 29 last year. The five officers, who were on duty, ordered food totalling $81, but Chung only paid $30. He had not asked for the cheque, the court was told. The incident was witnessed by two Independent Commission Against Corruption officers who were in the shop to check on a corruption complaint. The court heard the other officers tried to pay Chung their share, but were refused by the constable. Magistrate Richard Day found Chung guilty.
