Prize-winning young violinist to give recital

ONCE a child prodigy, now fast developing into a violinist of high calibre, Li Chuanyun, 15, will give a recital at the Hong Kong City Hall on December 2 at 8 pm.

His programme features a variety of attractive works, including sonatas by Beethoven and Leclair. Chuanyun started violin lessons with his parents when he was only three years, and at five he won second prize in the Beijing Youth and Junior Violin Competition. He moved with his family to Hong Kong in 1986, and in 1991 Chuanyun, then 11, won first prize in the Fifth Wieniawski International Youth Violin Competition in Poland.
