THE Hongkong Tourist Association will review crowd preparations for the annual food festival, expected to draw thousands of people to Wan Chai, Tsim Sha Tsui and Central.
Senior manager (communications), Mrs Melina Hung Wong Lai-ling, said association planners will closely watch developments surrounding Mr Justice Bokhary's inquiry into the Lan Kwai Fong tragedy.
''We've always worked very closely with the Urban Council and police for these events,'' she said.
''We must make sure that whatever happens following New Year that no efforts slacken - whatever recommendations will be made will certainly be taken into account,'' she said.
The two-week festival is expected to draw tens of thousands to the annual waiters' race in Central and the Wan Chai Food and Entertainment Extravaganza along the waterfront.
The organisers meet later this week to review plans.
