NO longer just the purview of tai-tais, clientele at Joyce Cafe seem to catch the relationship between quality ingredients, skilled preparation and finished product.
On a recent noontime visit we only heard the annoying ring of a single cell-phone in a crowd that looked as though they earned their own lunch money.
It seems as if Joyce Cafe is run under the same philosophy as the Joyce Ma empire. Imagination, fashion, quality, the environment, and service. As for prices, they're on the up side. But the return is high.
Decor might be described as elegant minimalist, with black tables, white cloths, and a wait-staff with long napkins hanging from their waists.
The Cafe is not vegetarian although a passion for fresh, nutrition-rich ingredients means many menu items include grains, fruits and vegetables only.
Seafood makes a regular appearance as does the occasional egg-inspired dish, but red and white meat are excluded. Trust me, you won't miss them.
