A LIFEGUARD who blackmailed a bored and lonely housewife over their 'dirty sex talk' was yesterday sent to prison for four years.
Lam Chi-ming, 35, forced the woman to have sex and to pay him thousands of dollars by threatening to play a tape of their erotic phone talks to her husband. But Lam had lied - the tape did not exist, the District Court heard.
Judge Britton told Lam he was lucky not to be charged with rape, which would have carried a longer sentence.
The court heard the 37-year-old housewife was charmed and 'a little tempted' when she got into conversation with Lam on August 31 last year at Lam Tin immigration office.
Her husband was away in China or worked nights as a taxi driver when he was in Hong Kong.
She took Lam's telephone number and by December the two were having graphic telephone sex talks.
The housewife admitted to Lam, who denied blackmail, that she had once called a male prostitute. But when Lam, the divorced father of a three-year-old son, said he wanted to make love to her, she became scared.
