IMAGINE the pile of rubbish in the bin, the end-products of our parties and celebrations: wrapping paper, decorations, spray cans, kitchen foil, paper plates and plastic cutleries.
All these useless materials could fill up several football pitch.
If we start using our resources wisely, using other alternatives to replace disposable goods, we would help to producing unnecessary wastes.
Send cards made of recycled paper. You can purchase them at WWF and Friends of the Earth. Less trees will be chopped down if we demand less paper products.
Or even make your own! Use reusable containers such as Dim Sum baskets to present gifts and handkerchiefs or scarfs for wrapping present, they will receive two! You can preserve flowers such as roses, baby's breath and lavender in a dried form and use them in many ways.
All you have to so is to hang the bunch upside-down in a dry room. They should be ready for use after two weeks.
