I REFER to the letter of Anthony Green concerning the new Park'N Shop cards issued by OTB (South China Morning Post, December 9).
The same day, I received, as unsolicited mail, a new OTB Visa card, which I only had to confirm by phone to make it valid.
However, I already have a Citibank Visa card and am totally satisfied with Citibank's outstanding service. Why buy another one? In contrast to Mr Green, who obviously is willing to try it for the first year, since the charges will start only with the second year, and who then continues to elaborate that only a small credit limit should be stated, I flatly refuse to give in to such marketing practices and returned the card right away.
If Park'N Shop's new policy is to accept only OTB Visa cards in the future, then consumers should stand up against such marketing practices and shop at other alternatives. As I see it, we will make use of our Wellcome card much more often in the future than we did in the past.
