AN undercover ICAC agent infiltrated a syndicate allegedly smuggling stolen vehicles to the mainland.

The agent, referred to as Raymond, is prepared to give evidence from behind a screen to keep his identity secret, the District Court was told yesterday.

Prosecutor John Marray said that between March and April Raymond was introduced by an ICAC informer to a gang which wanted stolen cars smuggled into China.

Conversations and meetings between the defendants, the undercover agent and the informer were recorded.

Larm Tat-ming, 30, Yuen Chi-kwong, 26, Wong Chi-keung, 31, and Kong Wing-fat, 30, all deny conspiracy to handle stolen goods.

Larm and Yuen deny conspiracy to offer an advantage and conspiracy to export unmanifested cargo.
