Baring bones of movement
1-MIN READ1-MIN
HOW do your bones move? Joints, ligaments and tendons enable the bones to move. Ball-and-socket joints, such as the hip and shoulder joints, allow the most movement.
A ball-and-socket joint allows movement backward, forward, sideways and around. In a joint that moves, the ends of the bones are covered with cartilage that is slippery.
A sticky fluid keeps the joint moving easily. Ligaments help control the movement of the bones. Tendons join muscle to bone or muscle to muscle. They are not as flexible as ligaments.
