Staff to boost most teams for the new year

A HOST of new faces have joined the South China Morning Post for the New Year: Josephine Goh Soo Hian is the Advertising Department's new executive secretary to the advertisement director. Her previous job was as an executive secretary at the Golden Flower Hotel in Xian, China.

In the Publications Department, Lynn Phorburn, who came to Hongkong a year ago to take up a secretarial position at the Venezuelan Consulate, has joined as personal assistant to the operations manager, Cyril Pereira.

Michael Parker from Sydney is now the chief financial officer for the Administration Department. Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and was the special projects accountant for News Limited in Sydney for four-and-a-half years before moving to Hongkong this year.

David Dalton has renewed links with the Post by becoming a sub-editor for the TV and Entertainment Times and M Magazine. David first joined the post in 1989 and worked as a sub-editor for the daily paper and Special Reports. He left last summer to get married and to travel.

New programmer Amy Chan Yat-ping from the EDP Department is a graduate from the City Polytechnic of Hongkong. She worked for six months for a software company as a programmer before joining us.

Another newcomer to the EDP Department is Albert Leung Sung-tai, who has taken up the position of unix engineer. Previously, he was a software engineer for three years for Cisco in San Jose, California.
