A 13-YEAR-OLD girl was gang raped in a deserted container after running away from home after a row with her mother, a court heard yesterday.

     Cheung Yuen-chung, 21, and two minors aged 14 and 16, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to rape and attempted rape.

  Prosecutor Peter Chapman told the High Court that on June 8 the girl went by taxi to a container yard in Lok Ma Chau with a girlfriend after she had quarrelled with her mother.

    There she met three youths and three girls. She went with the three boys and her girlfriend into a container which was furnished with a sofa and a table.

  Her friend left, but the 13-year-old stayed with the youths.

    But later, when she tried to leave, she was stopped by the accused, who had been sniffing paint thinner, the court heard.

    Mr Chapman alleged she was held down on the sofa, stripped of her clothes then raped by all three youths.

    She spent the night in another container and did not return home until June 10. When her mother took her to the police station to cancel a missing persons report, the girl made her allegations.

    A pathologist who examined her told police he could find no recent injuries.

    The girl was so softly spoken that a microphone system had to be used so her testimony could be heard.

   She was unable to clearly describe parts of her anatomy or physical details of what happened.

    Mr Justice Wong repeatedly reassured her and explained she must reveal the details of what happened to her and that people in the court 'were adults'.

    'The other two boys were holding my feet,' she said.

    'I struggled with them. I didn't say anything. My upper garment was removed and then my jeans. I felt very painful there. I was crying.'     But the young girl did not go into any detail of an actual rape and only described a 'hard object'.

    'I put on my clothing and sat on the sofa, and was crying because I did not know which object it was,' she said.

    The trial continues today.
