Benelux takes loss but turnover higher

BENELUX International has posted an interim loss of $651,000 for the six months to September 30, against a profit of $20.77 million, although turnover rose 32 per cent to $355 million.

There will be no interim dividend paid. Last year the board paid out 1.5 cents.

An exceptional item of $20.53 million came from subsidiary, Benelux Manufacturing (NI).

The subsidiary was behind schedule in its business, having not yet reached full capacity.

Benelux said losses would be blocked once full capacity was reached.
