The advent of cloud computing has ushered in a stream of businesses that harness the global virtual network. In the area of education, pioneering technology firm Sky Software has led the pack in providing smart, cloud-based solutions to the tertiary and private education markets across Asia-Pacific.

Producing breakthrough software solutions from its offices in Sydney and Geelong, the Australian company is furnishing small education providers with the tools that big education providers and universities use to increase their student intakes and manage their operations.

Sky Software's Sky Campus is a cloud-based, highly configurable, integrated solution that enables educational institutions to manage their day-to-day student processing, from application to graduation and alumni.

The company released Blue Sky, a student management solution specifically designed to enhance the Southeast Asian education experience. It includes all of the features of Sky Campus but without the same level of customisation, thus keeping the cost low.

"Many middle-market providers are struggling to manage the administrative and technical burden associated with being an education provider in the 21st century," says CEO Nick Stanley. "With our solutions, education providers can easily move from outdated and basic methods of managing student records."

Blue Sky can be deployed quickly and efficiently. It is being offered as an affordable software-as-a-service product, enabling education providers to be competitive in a hotly contested space.

"Our clients choose our solutions because they reduce the burden of administrative overload and associated costs," Stanley says. "Importantly, we have a student-centric approach to the solution design and processes, and that is what gives our clients the edge."

The company has commenced operations in Singapore as part of a strategic move to expand its presence in Southeast Asia. It is seeking more partnerships as it moves to be the market leader in Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia.

"I have not met a solution that would beat ours like-for-like," Stanley says. "We will always beat the competitor."
