A successful business relationship emerges when a regular transaction matures into a lasting partnership. Providing a full range of tailored logistics services, PLM Global Management works with customers hand-in-hand to a point where it becomes an integral part of the clients' supply chain.

"We're like a bolt-on business for the customer," says Reg Paul, managing director. Paul envisioned this kind of personalised service when he founded the Australian logistics company in 1985 after 15 years in the manufacturing industry. Although PLM has remained Australian-owned, its operations have a far wider reach, with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Ningbo, Shanghai, Qingdao, Tianjin, Singapore and Thailand.

"I saw that manufacturing importers and exporters needed a service-oriented and tailor-made business," Paul says. "We work as a partner, taking ownership and responsibility for what we manage."

PLM's Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) system takes complete responsibility for the management and distribution of cargo within the clients' supply chain. VMI ensures the customers optimise their inventory levels, helping them become more competitive by reducing lead time and costs. This streamlines the process, making logistics effortless for the clients - they simply need to place their orders and PLM deals with the suppliers, taking the concerns away.

PLM maximises software and technology to make its international operations even more seamless.

By investing in human resources, PLM is able to effectively maintain its quality service offered worldwide. "PLM stands for 'SERVICE', and our expertise lies with our people," Paul says.

As a leading catalyst for trade in Asia, PLM will continue to act as a trusted partner for customers by linking their trade with the world. Its regional headquarters in Hong Kong and warehouse facilities in Singapore, Hong Kong, the mainland and Thailand bring PLM closer to its Asian customers.

PLM also brings Asian and Australian importers and exporters closer together, providing value-added services according to their requirements. "Our success is defined by our ability to understand our customers and tailor solutions to satisfy their needs," Paul says.
