Hose and fittings specialist RYCO Hydraulics has once again surpassed industry standards with its latest line of isobaric hoses. Engineered to maintain constant pressure across all hose sizes, the next-generation hoses allow original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to simplify the design of their equipment.
Twice as flexible as conventional products, the ultralight, superstrong, high-pressure hoses help OEMs build more compact machines, thereby reducing production costs. The easy-to-install product line is resistant to flame and abrasion, and can withstand four times its constant working pressure.
"We're always raising the bar," says CEO Leigh Morrison. "We differentiate ourselves by consistently offering superior engineering and excellent service at a good price point."
This approach has paved the way for RYCO's success. From a local manufacturer of vehicle oil filter connectors in 1946, the company has grown to become a global leader and innovator in fluid-connection products and solutions. Its innovations include the J-SEAL, a leak-free Joint Industry Council termination range that can handle twice the normal working pressures. RYCO has also created the Hose Assembly Lifespan Predictor (HALP), a computer program that helps reduce accidents and downtime. HALP predicts the lifespan of hose assemblies and determines when to replace them before they fail.
RYCO complements these offerings with round-the-clock access to service centres and mobile specialists. "We don't treat our clients as a number, because we're not interested in short-term business," Morrison says. "We want our business partners and clients to keep coming back to us by choice."
Keen on strengthening its position in Asia, especially China, the company welcomes distributors with engineering capabilities.
RYCO will also set up in China another OEM centre, a second assembly plant, and a separate research and development arm to support its Dalian factory established in 1997.
"We have a strong growth ambition in China," Morrison says. "We're spending more time and effort building quality, service and long-term business there than in any other market."
