IT became obvious that Anodize is fast achieving real heavy metal band status after it staged two concerts at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium recently.

The concerts wrapped up Hong Kong's rock scene for the year 1995 and saw some 3,200 fans crawling out from underground to do some serious head-banging.

Throughout each two-hour show, the fans were treated to not only some ear-blasting music, but they were also given a chance to buy some souvenirs and promotional products.

Caps, T-shirts, posters, CDs and concert pamphlets of the group sold like hot cakes and turned the podium into a busy bazaar.

Posters were sold out so early that the band's company - Music Communication - had to scrape the bottom of the barrel to satisfy fans.

Dressed casually in baggy pants and sweat-shirts, the five long-haired rockers kicked off the show with their theme song Anodize.
