Slump at Berjaya

BERJAYA Holdings has reported a plunge in net profit to $238,000 for the six months to October 31, 1995.

A year earlier, the company posted net profit of $15.93 million, buoyed by a $16.57 million exceptional gain from the disposal of listed investments.

Turnover rose 21 per cent to $4.19 million from $3.45 million previously.

Earnings per share dived 98 per cent to 0.05 cents from 3.24 cents.
