EMBATTLED handler Derek Cruz has doubled his score for the season in the last week sending out Lucky Optimists and Aurora Spirit to win under visiting English jockey Alan Munro.
So that must be a tip in itself, watch out for Munro on horses trained by Cruz. But here's another one and it could pay off at big odds.
Watch out for Cruz's New Zealand import, Grand Commander, who ran a much better race in yesterday's eighth event.
Grand Commander may need another run to come to peak condition and he may also need to drop into Class Three.
But he did show more than enough yesterday under Lance O'Sullivan to suggest a victory is well within his compass before the season is out.
In the same race, the David Hayes-trained Royal Attire stayed on very strongly to the line under Mick Kinane and should be spot on for his next couple of runs.
