Veteran journalist dies

FORMER foreign correspondent and international business consultant Anthony Polsky, 58, died suddenly at his home in Mid-Levels on Saturday night.

Polsky came to Hong Kong in the 1960s as a correspondent for the New York Herald Tribune but soon transferred to the Far Eastern Economic Review as business editor.

In 1973 he went back to the United States to work for Reuters as financial editor, returning to Hong Kong in the early 1980s to work as a writer and business consultant.

In 1987 he worked at the South China Morning Post as editorial writer and left the same year to continue his business activities and freelance writing.

He is survived by a son, Philip, 23.
