DEPARTING Sports Development Board chief executive Howard Wells has taken a parting shot at the territory's National Olympic Committee, accusing it of bringing up 'red herrings' to mask its own inadequacies.
Earlier this week, Amateur Sports Federation and Olympic Committee president A. de O. Sales, said too much money was being spent on administrative costs at the SDB.
Sales also said the SDB was failing to account for every dollar it spent.
Wells, in a rare attack on the ASF & OC, countered: 'To always focus on administrative costs is a red herring.
'An organisation cannot do its job without proper administration. It is disappointing that in 1996 there are still questions being asked on the validity of the SDB because our role has very clearly been defined.
'It's disappointing because the Board was set up as a platform for all the various partners and agencies to meet.
