Woman swallows bitter pill

THREE conmen yesterday cheated a 45-year-old woman out of $250,000 in Kowloon City.

A man offered the victim and another man $200 to help deliver 1,300 pills to a market at the junction of Nga Tsin Long and Nga Tsin Wai roads at about 10 am.

When they reached the junction of Nam Kok and Carpenter roads, a man asked if he could buy the tablets for $300 each.

The first man offered to sell the tablets for $200 each to the woman, who paid him $250,000. She reported to police when she could not find the 'buyer'.
