IT took all the noted aggression of Irish ace Mick Kinane to get last-start winner Flying Tiger (8-1) home in the final event on yesterday's Sha Tin card.
In a pulsating finish, Kinane and the David Oughton-trained sprinter just outgunned French champion Thierry Jarnet and the John Moore-trained Joint Account (12-1) in the 1,400-metre event.
It was a thrilling finish with Flying Tiger coming from virtually last to join issue inside the final 150 metres and then come out on top in a fierce duel.
Joint Account also produced a mighty effort as this was his first start of the season and he will obviously benefit from it.
Kinane had been narrowly touched off on Chagall in the previous race but got the best out of Flying Tiger.
He said: 'He is not the best mannered horse you've ever seen. He is temperamental and has to be loaded last and not left in there. But he has ability and, on the strength of his last win, he had to be a chance in this one.' There was huge support for the Ivan Allan-trained Donizetti (4-1 favourite) but this one looks more and more like a morning glory. He was up on the pace but gave in without a whimper when Basil Marcus went for him in the straight.
