HENRY Yeung has been appointed general manager of the Qi Shi Hotel, the first internationally managed hotel in Xinyang, which will open early in 1996.
This was announced by Mr Ernst Zimmermann, president of the management company, Koppen Yan Zimmermann (International) Ltd.
Mr Yeung will oversee the hotel which is under construction on a 3,000 square metre site in the heart of the city.
Mr Yeung has a proven track record gained in various hotels including Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, Shangri-La Hotel Beijing, Grand View Garden Hotel Beijing, Kowloon Panda Hotel and Harbin Flamingo Hotel.
Hong Kong-born Mr Yeung, 35, is a graduate in Hotel Management from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghainese.
