SINCERE, the department store group, plans to increase significantly the number of part-time sales staff on its pay-roll.

Company president Philip Ma King-huen said the strategy was the latest cost-cutting measure in a bid to ride the retail slump.
Sincere is battling to overturn operating losses of $177 million in the last financial year.
The scheme would take the cost of part-time workers from 10 per cent to between 25 and 30 per cent of the pay-roll, he said.
Mr Ma said no full-time workers would be laid off and the strategy would be implemented by 'natural attrition'.
