IT WAS an important step forward for young dance graduates who displayed their skills in a jury examination and dance show at the City Contemporary Dance Company (CCDC) recently.
The graduates of the Certificate Programme in Dance, jointly organised by the CCDC and the School of Continuing Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), performed their own creations, as well as works choreographed by Ronly Kong, Hyman Yeung and Mandy Yim.
The programme emphasises modern dance and ballet technique training.
In addition to classroom learning, students have many opportunities to participate in performances. All teachers are professional dancers and include experts like Willy Tsao, Pun Siu-fai, Yuri Ng, Mui Cheuk-yin, Zhang Xiao-xiong and Ronly Kong.
Major subjects include modern and ballet technique, 20th century dance history, choreography, dance improvisation, repertory, music and dance appreciation.
Graduates of the programme will be admitted to the Advanced Certificate Programme.
