A TEAM of detectives was yesterday hunting the killer of a Vietnamese boat person inside High Island camp following a gang fight in the early hours of the morning.

Two other boat people were injured during the flare-up which involved more than 40 detainees in the north section of the centre.
The dead man, 24-year-old Pham Van Da, was understood to have been stabbed through the chest with a home made spear.
Fighting broke out shortly after midnight yesterday. Correctional Services officers found two injured men inside a hut after rushing to the scene.
Pham Van Da was certified dead at the Prince of Wales Hospital at 3.50 am.

A 21-year-old man who sustained cuts to his left thigh was treated at the camp clinic.
