THE gong for Most Intolerant Gweilo of the Week goes to Dr Stephen Prior of Mid-Levels, who complains, in a note headed POISONOUS ODOUR: 'Can someone please do something about these illegal hawkers who sell fried tofu around the Mid-Levels escalator. The smell is just awful; God knows how they sell any. 'I thought durian in Malaysia/Singapore was bad enough, this is 10 times worse, resembling fried VOMIT. 'Perhaps they could be prosecuted under the Poisonous Substances Ordinance.' We've got news for you, Doc. Tofu is a major part of the local diet, enjoyed by most of the other 98 per cent of Hong Kong's population. Wake up to yourself.
