NOT everyone has the time or the inclination to take off to foreign parts for a romantic Valentine's break. Fortunately, several Hong Kong hotels are offering tempting packages right on our doorstep, one of which is the Romance Package at The Peninsula.
The package starts with welcome tea, fruit basket and flowers on arrival, followed by a dozen cut flowers presented by The Peninsula pageboy. To help you celebrate, a bottle of champagne and Peninsula chocolates are also thrown in.
A Rolls-Royce will pick you up and deliver you safely home and to make your stay a memorable one the hotel will present you with a special souvenir.
There is a choice of two types of room; deluxe and a deluxe suite with a harbour view. Prices for the deluxe rooms are $4,300 for the first night and $2,926 for additional nights (inclusive), and for the harbour view suite $9,600 for the first night and $8,460 for additional nights.
In the deluxe suite you have your own whirlpool, or you can take advantage of the hotel's Roman-style swimming pool and luxurious spa facilities.
As an optional extra, enjoy a romantic candlelight set dinner for two in Gaddi's at $3,500 with aperitifs and a half-bottle of wine thrown in, or a set dinner for two in Felix with a bottle of wine ($1,880).
