FREIGHT forwarder Jet Air group is to open more offices in China and other Asian countries this year, according to chairman Peter Yu Kam-ching.
He said he was optimistic about the growth of the domestic Chinese market and would launch a major service.
Jet Air's joint venture with the municipal government of Shanghai has been generating huge profits for the group, and Mr Yu said there was no way any other freight forwarding firm could make that kind of money.
The joint venture generated about 40 per cent of the group's profits.
'We were lucky to hook up with such a big group and managed to get a first class [freight forwarding] licence, given the Government's policy of looking at this industry as a protected industry,' Mr Yu said.
A first class freight forwarding licence allows a freight forwarder to handle all kinds of freight by land, sea and air.
