Addict admits bid to bribe officer

AN addict pleaded guilty yesterday to possession of dangerous drugs and trying to bribe a police officer.

Constable Fung Chun-leung was on patrol in Lung On House, Lower Wong Tai Sin Estate, on October 4 last year.

While there he saw Ho Wai-man buying a 0.60-gram packet of heroin on the building's fourth-floor staircase.

San Po Kong Court heard that Constable Fung apprehended Ho while another officer chased after the alleged drug trafficker, Wong Ting-ho.

Prosecutor Peter Ip said Ho then tucked five $100 notes into Constable Fung's belt.

Ho told the policeman he had bought the drugs for his own use.
