MANY thanks for publishing the letter from Stephanie Kumaria concerning King George V (KGV) School's Diamond Jubilee (South China Morning Post, February 1).
We are receiving inquiries from past students and teachers from both here in Hong Kong and from overseas.
For those not familiar with the school, KGV occupies one of the oldest surviving buildings in Kowloon and this year completes 60 years of occupation at its present site. From 1936 till 1948 its title was The Central British School.
KGV will celebrate this 60th Anniversary with a ball at the Holiday Inn, Golden Mile on Thursday, March 28.
At the moment, more than 200 members of the Past-Students Association are coming from overseas, but there are many former students in Hong Kong who are not members of the association and who may not be aware of the event. All ex-KGVers and friends of the school are invited to contact KGV School Office on 2711 3029 for details.
There will also be an open day for past students on Tuesday, March 26, which will include the annual competition for the 'Alec Reeve' soccer trophy between past and present students.
