STUDENTS are invited to take part in a photography contest aimed at encouraging people to appreciate Hong Kong's culture and traditions. The contest is being organised by the Photo Art Association of the Friends of Scouting Wo Lok Youth Centre. The competition, 'Enjoy More Hong Kong Culture, Capture the Focus of Hong Kong Festivals', aims to raise public awareness of Hong Kong's culture and traditions by encouraging the public to look at the way festivals are celebrated. The competition is open to all Hong Kong residents. There is no age limit. Application forms are available at all Friends of Scouting branches, Hong Kong Youth Association branches and photo shops around the territory. The deadline for applications is February 29. Hand-delivered applications must reach the centre by 5.30 pm that day. Several prizes are being offered. The first three winners will receive gold, silver and bronze trophies. There will also be 10 merit prizes, and awards for Most Interesting Photo and the Best Photographic Technique. The Photo Art Association of Friends of Scouting Wo Lok Youth Centre was set up in 1992.
