Saboteur hits hospital food

A SABOTEUR has been blamed for adding cleaning fluid to patients' food at the United Christian Hospital.

Police are investigating the incident after staff noticed that an eggplant and minced pork meal had changed colour from brown to red and smelled strange.

The hospital believes a cleaning fluid was added to the food on Tuesday night.

'We suspect it is something intentional, but the reason behind it we cannot tell,' said hospital chief executive Dr Tse Chun-yan.

None of the food was served to patients. It could have caused irritation or burning to the mouth and throat.

Hospital general manager Grace Leung Yuen-ling said they were considering moving all cleaning materials from the kitchen.

The scare is the second recent food poisoning incident at the hospital. About 400 staff became ill in August after eating contaminated food.
