CHINA Ocean Shipping Co (Cosco) has doubled its sailing frequency from Le Havre to Asia with a weekly service from last month.
According to the port's publication, Flashes, the service is operated by a fleet of nine 3,800 teu vessels built in 1994.
Le Havre is the last port of loading for eastbound vessels, giving European shippers the best transit times available for exports: to Singapore in 17 days; Hong Kong, 22 days; Xingang, 26 days; Shanghai, 29 days; and Qingdao, 31 days.
Cosco also provides transshipment services to India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Recently, Chinese Minister of Transport Huang Zhendong visited the port and had talks with Le Havre port officials about its capacity, development plans and growth of trade between Europe and China.
